App-based cab drivers, auto-rickshaw drivers, delivery personnel and goods transport drivers across Telangana will participate in a statewide flash strike on July 22. The decision to hold the strike was announced at a meeting of various workers' unions held at the CITU office in Musheerabad. Telangana Gig and Platform Workers' Union founding president Sheikh Salauddin apologised to the public for the inconvenience the strike may cause. He further stated that the decision to hold the strike was taken after several long-pending issues remained

unresolved.

Thousands of workers associated with Ola, Uber, Rapido, Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, Zepto and other app-based service platforms are expected to take part in the strike, demanding a minimum base fare and fair per-kilometre and per-minute charges. The workers are also demanding the implementation of welfare schemes, stricter regulation of aggregator companies, immediate enforcement of the Gig and Platform Workers Rules, the establishment of a Welfare Board, and implementation of the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines-2025.
