An Interdepartmental coordination meeting was conducted by Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar regarding the arrangements for the forthcoming Bakrid festival here on Friday.

Apart from senior police officers, officials from the Transport Department, GHMC and Animal Husbandry Department too participated.

Officials said arrangements were being made to ensure the peaceful conduct of the festival. Round the clock check posts will start functioning soon, on all the entry points of the city. A control room will also be set up for



interdepartmental coordination, even during the night. It was emphasised that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure the strict implementation of the law. Anyone having issues or grievance were asked to inform police for prompt action.

Anjani Kumar said no individual or group should take law into their hands. Police will be on the lookout for such individuals trying to disrupt the harmony and tranquility in the city. If anyone tries to resort to any unlawful activities, legal action will be taken against them, he said.
