The elite counter-terror force of the Telangana police, OCTOPUS, along with other security agencies, conducted a mock drill at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad late Saturday night to test emergency response and coordination among various security wings.
The joint anti-terror exercise was held from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. and focused on assessing the practical response of security personnel to a simulated emergency, including rescue and
evacuation operations in and around the historic Charminar area.
Personnel from OCTOPUS and other security agencies participated in the exercise to assess their preparedness, response time and coordination during a possible security emergency.
Officials clarified that the exercise was only a mock drill and there was no actual security threat or emergency at Mecca Masjid or in the surrounding area.
