There was no need for a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from the police for burial or cremation of the bodies of Covid victims, said Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar.

“No police officer should demand NoC from the families nor should any other government agency ask the relatives to bring it from police,” he said on Sunday.

The Commissioner said that it was a challenging situation and the city police despite the severity of the pandemic were doing their best to provide security at the government

management hospitals especially the Covid hospitals.

“Sufficient number of police personnel of different ranks are deployed at Gandhi Hospital round-the-clock to provide security. On all the floors, at the gates and outside the mortuary, the police personnel are present round-the-clock,” he said.

Anjani Kumar said the police were coordinating with the administration of the Gandhi Hospital and other stake holders including nurses, PG doctors and class IV employees.
