The Nizamabad police arrested a barber Pandurang Kondamangale and a Sarpanch Ganesh Shinde from Maharashtra in connection with the murder of a six-year-old girl in KC Canal in the district.
Both Kondamangale and Shinde were residents of Mukhed in Nanded district in Maharashtra. With the help of Ganesh, Kondamangale decided to contest the local body polls.
Kondamangale killed his daughter Praachi to contest in elections. Kondamangale was blessed with three children.
As he planned to contest the Sarpanch elections, the two-child norm has become an obstacle. He then decided to change the father’s name in his son’s birth certificate by handing over the
child to anyone who was willing to adopt the boy.
Since his plans did not materialize, Kondamangale decided to eliminate his daughter. According to his plan, Kondamangale brought his daughter to KC Canal on his motorcycle, and threw her into it.
As the girl’s body was found in the canal, the Nizamabad police booked a case and took up investigation.
After the girl’s photo was circulated in WhatsApp groups, the police received information that she was the daughter of Kondamangale.
The police questioned Kondamangale who confessed to the crime, according Nizamabad Police Commissioner P Sai Chaitanya.
