After Kamareddy ryots, now Nizamabad farmers are demanding the Congress government to abolish the app-based urea booking system, citing technical challenges in using the app.

On Monday, several farmers in Yellareddy constituency had demanded the government to abolish the system. Similarly on Tuesday, their counterparts from Armoor mandal staged a rasta roko on National Highway 63 at Ankapur.

Raising

slogans against the government, the farmers wanted the manual system to be reintroduced. They said many were unable to book the bags in the app due to digital illiteracy and challenges in handling smart phones, besides mobile network issues.

Due to farmers’ protest, traffic on the Nizamabad-Armoor was affected. After learning about the protest, police rushed to the location and convinced the farmers to give up their agitation.
