NIMS Neurosurgeon Dr Thirumal selected as Scientist-in-Residence at UCF

Dr Thirumal Yerragunta, Additional Professor of Neurosurgery at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), has been selected as a Scientist-in-Residence at The India Center, University of Central Florida (UCF), USA.

The week-long academic residency between August 9 and 16 will provide Dr Yerragunta an opportunity to interact with UCF faculty, medical and pre-medical students, high-school students, physicians from



the Indian diaspora, and members of the Central Florida community.

Dr Yerragunta delivered a public lecture at the UCF College of Medicine, and his visit also includes interactions with university students and faculty and discussions on medical education, modern neurosurgery, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and possibilities for greater academic collaboration between institutions in India and the United States.
