A man who has been posing as a dentist for nearly two decades was arrested by the police in Neredmet on Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as Ramesh, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, had allegedly been operating a dental clinic without any formal qualifications. Though he had not even completed his Class X education, he managed to present himself as a qualified dentist and treat patients for years.
According to officials, Ramesh set up a clinic, primarily offering dental services, reportedly during late-night
hours until early morning, an unusual schedule that eventually raised suspicion among locals.
Acting on these doubts, the Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT) officials conducted a raid on the clinic. During the search, it was confirmed that Ramesh lacked any recognised medical education and was illegally practicing dentistry.
The case was booked and police are investigating how he managed to operate undetected for nearly two decades and the extent of treatments he carried out on unsuspecting patients.
