As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Nehru Zoological Park is organising programmes focusing on Indian Spotted Chevrotain/ Mouse Deer (Moschiola indica) from May 10 to 16.

An expert talk will be held on Conservation Breeding of Mouse Deer in Nehru Zoological Park, by Dr G Umapathy, Senior Principal Scientist, LaCONES, CCMB and the Central Zoo Authority of India, will be hosting a live stream on their Facebook Channel.

The zoo will also host a painting competition on the topic “Portrait paint of a Mouse Deer” apart from a short movie on Mouse Deer, a



webinar with Dr A J T Johnsingh and V V L Subhadra Devi, a press release said.

A poster exhibition and plantation of wild fruit trees in zoo premises for frugivorous birds and animals and a talk on breeding biology, enrichment and reintroduction of Mouse Deer at the park along with a quiz competition are also lined up.
