The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls saw nearly 29,000 applications (Form-7) being filed objecting proposed inclusion or seeking deletion of existing entry of the elector from the final electoral roll in Telangana. Among the total, around 5,000 applications were from Hyderabad alone, followed by Siddipet and Sangareddy districts.
Revealing SIR of electoral rolls status in the State on Thursday, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy said 28,753 Form-7 applications were filed, so far.
While submitting the Form-7 an individual must mention the reason such as not residing in the mentioned address, dead or permanently migrated, he said, adding that Form -7 applications received from the political parties would be thoroughly enquired and verified before taking any action.
“Special care is being taken while deciding the Form-7 received in bulk.
All claims and objections will be placed on the website of the CEO, so that citizens are able to see the list and lodge objections, if any,” he said.
As many as 55 lakh out of 92.88 lakh electors who were unmapped with SIR 2002 or had anomalies in their enumeration forms have already marked for inclusion in electoral rolls. The remaining electors’ applications were under different stages, he said.
Stating that 4,43,183 individuals submitted Form 6 (fresh enrolment), he said declaration form, along with Form-6 has to be submitted during the period of SIR only and during the non-SIR period, declaration form would not be insisted on.
Further, 3,35,187 electors filed Form-8 seeking changes in their voter ID details such as shifting of residence within or outside constituency correction of particulars, replacement of EPIC without correction and marking of PWD elector.
