Musi works to commence in August: KTR

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao said Musi River Front Development works will commence in August and Rs 1,600 crore have been sanctioned for executing the works.

On steps taken to improve the city infrastructure, the Minister said all measures were being taken to launch Hyderabad Metro Rail services on Ameerpet-LB Nagar route by July end.

“Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will be launching the Metro services on the route,” said Rao, adding that a detailed project report was being prepared for Nagole-Falaknuma Metro connectivity.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is taking up five different projects under Strategic Road Development Programme in LB Nagar constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 448 crore. These works will be completed by June 2019, the Minister said during Mana Nagaram; programme held at LB Nagar



here on Thursday.

Internal roads, stormwater drains and sewerage works worth Rs 3,100 crore are being taken up in LB Nagar constituency. In addition to these, Rs 2,000 crore are being spent on drinking water works, he said.
Budget to the tune of Rs 16 crore has been sanctioned for development of Saroornagar Pedda Cheruvu and these works will commence shortly and the graveyard at Vivekananda Nagar will also be developed, he said.

The Minister appealed to the citizens to play an active role in maintenance of parks, playgrounds and other facilities being developed by the civic body.

Later, the Minister released the GHMC’s Innovations and Initiatives book during the programme. Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy and other elected public representatives participated in the programme.
