Muffakham Jah Bahadur, the great grandson of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, visited the historical Mecca Masjid on Monday and took stock of the ongoing renovation work.

He offered prayers at the mausoleums of Prince Azam Jah Bahadur and his great grandfather, the VI Nizam Mir Mahboob Ali Khan. He also inspected the madrasas and vowed to take up the issues with the authorities concerned.

Mohammed Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui, superintendent of Mecca Masjid, told that Muffakham Jah Bahadur inspected the ongoing work in and around the Mecca Masjid.

Besides, arrangements are also being made for Ramzan by the Mecca Masjid authorities to ensure proper facilities for devotees at the mosque.

However, the cleaning of carpets is yet to begin as authorities are looking for contractors for the purpose, according to Mohammed Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui, superintendent of Mecca Masjid.
