Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that his government will bring an education system that would check criminal tendencies in society by incorporating ethical and moral education in schools from the next academic year.

The lessons to be taught in schools will be designed with the help of spiritual leaders such as Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and some retired Directors General of Police.

The Chief Minister said this after releasing “Journey Through Turbulent Times”, a book authored by former DGP HJ Dora, at Pragathi Bhavan here on Thursday. “It is unfortunate that criminal tendencies are on the rise, human beings are behaving like wild animals in some places. We need to curb these tendencies from spreading

further. To inculcate good behaviour in students, teaching of moral values in schools is a must.

“Our government has decided to impart these essential values to students at schools from next year,” the Chief Minister said.

He said a committee consisting of former DGPs will be formed and the advice of spiritual leaders taken in establishing a value-based education policy with moral values at its centre to prepare lessons.

“The government is keen on introducing moral education to make Telangana an ideal society and wish that the police in the State also share their valuable knowledge in this mission,” the Chief Minister said.
