The Southwest Monsoon continued to advance in Telangana with several districts getting pummelled by heavy rains since the early hours of Tuesday.
While heavy rains across several places in Hyderabad were recorded on Tuesday night, several districts including Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Jagtial, Jangaon and Bhadradri Kothagudem received over 100 mm of rainfall on Tuesday.
“The northern limit of monsoons continues to pass through Mumbai, Pune, Sholapur, Mahabubnagar and Kavali. Conditions are favourable for further advancement of southwest monsoons in the next 24 to 48 hours into remaining parts of Maharashtra,
Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” the IMD-New Delhi bulletin said.
Heavy rainfall on Tuesday was recorded at Khasmipet, Karimnagar (114.33mm), Nampalle, Rajanna Sircilla (107.8 mm), Jagtial (102.5 mm), Gundala in Bhadradri Kothagudem and Gudur in Jangaon received 100 mm of rainfall each.
Meanwhile, the IMD-Hyderabad issued heavy to very heavy rainfall in Adilabad, Khammam, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Jangaon, Siddipet, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts until May 30. The IMD-Hyderabad has also issued heavy rainfall alert for several other districts, till May 30.
