The GHMC teams repaired 105 potholes on the city roads as part of the second day of a monsoon drive on Wednesday. The teams removed 126.6 metric tonnes of legacy municipal solid waste and 46.6 MT of construction and demolition waste.

Apart from pothole-filling works, 65 catch pits and two culverts were cleared and 11.9 MT of floating material and silt were removed from the nalas. 

A press release said GHMC teams installed 107



commercial bins at shops to improve waste management and built one rainwater harvesting structure and visited 18 schools and created awareness on ‘Bulk Waste Generator’ (BWG) and explained compliance rules under updated municipal and national solid waste regulations to the 700 students.

The civic body also pruned 47.5 MT of tree branches and 10.45 MT of dry and green waste from 34 parks was lifted. The special monsoon drive will be continued up to August 21.
