Mohd Azharuddin sworn in as Minister in Telangana Cabinet

Former Indian cricket captain Mohd Azharuddin has been inducted into the State cabinet after Governor Jishnu Dev Varma administered the oath at Raj Bhavan here on Friday.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his cabinet colleagues were present on the occasion. Mohd Azharuddin’s portfolio has not been announced so far and there are reports that



he might be offered Home Ministry or Minorities Welfare and Sports Ministry.

The Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues extended wishes to the former cricketer. His cricketer’s induction marks the second cabinet expansion since the Congress government assumed office in December 2023. In June this year, three MLAs were sworn in as Ministers.
