A minor boy was washed away after venturing into the Gundala waterfalls of the River Krishna at Rekulapally village on Thursday. 

The deceased was identified as a resident of BD Colony in the town.

The boy, along with his friends, had gone fishing downstream of the waterfalls at Rekulapally village, however, he lost control and was swept



away. 

Local residents attempted to rescue him but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Residents alerted the local police and the Fire Services Department, which deployed expert swimmers to take up the rescue operation, according to reports. 

Based on a complaint lodged by the boy’s father, the police registered a case and an investigation is under way.
