Minimum support price for tomato at Rs.5/kg

The State government has come forward to protect the farmers by providing Rs 5 per kg minimum support price under ‘Mana Kuragayalu’ scheme  launched in all Rythu Bazaars in the city recently.

Irrigation and Marketing Minister T Harish Rao, who reviewed



the prices of vegetables with officials here on Sunday, directed the officials of the Marketing Department to procure tomatoes from farmers directly. He also asked the officials to provide facilities to the growers to sell the produce in the Rythu Bazaars.
