Muslims across Hyderabad are celebrating Milad-un-Nabi, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed. The occasion is observed on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic Hijri calendar.
To mark the occasion, religious meetings are being organised at various places across the city. A major public meeting is being organised at the Numaish Grounds in Nampally by the All India Tameer-e-Millat. Several eminent personalities are expected to attend the meeting. Similar religious meetings are being held at different locations across the city.
Several
organisations are also conducting blood donation camps. The FOCUS organisation is holding a camp at the Asafia Library in Afzalgunj, which will continue until 5 p.m. Blood donation camps are also being held at the Charminar Bus Stand and Vijay Nagar Colony.
The major attraction of the celebrations will be the Milad Peace Juloos, a mega procession scheduled to begin from Charminar at 1 p.m. Thousands of people are expected to participate in the procession, which will pass through Charminar, Gulzar Houz, Pathergatti, Madina Building, Nayapul, Darulshifa, Mandi Mir Alam and Alijah Kotla before culminating at Moghalpura.
