Telangana is seeing a drop in temperature due to pre-monsoon activities. The India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad has issued a thunderstorm warning for several districts from April 11 to 14.

According to the officials, districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy Medchal-Malkajgiri, Adilabad, Kumram Bheem-Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Pedapalli, Karimnagar, Rajanna-Siricilla, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Wanaparthy will receive light to moderate rains for the next four days. Some parts of the State may also witness hailstorms.

Dr K Nagaratna, Director, IMD-Hyderabad, said a cyclonic circulation persists over Chhattisgarh and neighbouring States. A north-south trough is also running from north interior Karnataka to interior Tamil Nadu due to which a few districts of Telangana may receive heavy rainfall for a few

days.

Earlier, on April 8, the Telangana State Development Planning Society had recorded light rains of up to 2.2 mm in Sangareddy.

Thanks to the pre-monsoon activities, the city got a respite from the scorching sun. The maximum temperature recorded in Hyderabad on Sunday was 34.8 degree Celsius, which is at least 3 degree Celsius less than the normal temperature. As per this week’s forecast, the maximum temperatures could go up to 38 degree Celsius, which is a relief from the burning 40 degree Celsius that the city dwellers endured for about a week at the start of April.

Not just Hyderabad, various other places in the State such as Medak, Mahabubnagar and Nizamabad have also seen a dip in the mercury levels in the last two days. The highest maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius was recorded from Adilabad by the IMD on Sunday.
