The Hyderabad city, which is already reeling under humid conditions for the last several days, is poised to have the mercury inch past the 40 degree Celsius mark by the month-end.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures will gradually increase in the city. The next three days are expected to record temperatures at 39 degree Celsius and there is a possibility of clocking 40 degrees Celsius on March 28, IMD officials said.

On Sunday, city recorded a temperature of



37.6 degree Celsius. Day temperatures apart, nights are getting warmer in the city with the temperatures moving towards 25 degree Celsius. On Saturday night, city recorded a minimum of 24.5 degree Celsius, 2 degrees above normal.

Telangana State Development Planning Society saw several parts of the city recording 38 degree Celsius to 39 degree Celsius on Sunday with Maitrivanam settling at 39.2 degrees followed by Bahadurpura at 38.7 degrees.
