Medak: Medak town has witnessed heaviest rainfall in the State during the past 24 hours at 8.30 am on Thursday.
The Medak RDO office recorded 11.9 cm rainfall while Masaipet located close to the town recorded 11.2 cm rainfall. Kulcharam, Veldurthy, Chegunta, Toopran, Manoharabad, Nizampet and other mandals also recorded heavy rains.
Medak town and Masaipet were only two places to record more than 10 cm rainfall across the
State.
Meanwhile, Sangareddy and Siddipet districts also witnessed moderate rains during the period. The farmers, who brought harvested paddy to procurement centres, have found it difficult to save the produce. In many places paddy grains swept away with the rainwater.
Since the IMD was predicting more rains for the next few days, the farmers are worried over the delay of procurement of paddy.
