Meat shops and slaughterhouses to remain closed on Oct 2

In observance of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, all cattle, sheep, and goat slaughterhouses, as well as retail meat and beef shops within GHMC limits will remain closed on October 2.

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan on Wednesday said that the directive was issued under Section 533 (b) of the GHMC Act,



1955, following Resolution of the GHMC Standing Committee.

Karnan requested the Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad to extend the cooperation to the municipal authorities in enforcing the closure of all the Sheep & Goats and Cattle slaughterhouses and meat & beef shops in the GHMC limits.
