Mancherial police arrest 16 for cockfighting

Sixteen persons were arrested for indulging in cockfighting on the outskirts of Kallempalli village on Wednesday midnight. Police seized four roosters, 45 knives, 12 mobile phones, 18 motorbikes and cash of Rs 24,040 from the accused persons.

Task Force ACP Srinivas, in a statement, said Kudimetha Sai, Janne Kamalakar, Bandarikanti Kotesh, Telige Sai, Choudari Thirupathi, Athram Sandeep, Mogili Mallesh, Manchala Hanumanthu,



Enumula Madhukar, Manepalli Rajanna, Manepalli Vilash, Keerthi Laxman, Karpeta Thirupathi, Dandera Mahesh, Sathpathi Rajashekhar and Domala Mallesh, all from different parts of Vemanapalli and Dahegaon mandals, were arrested.

Following a tip-off, task force teams raided a secluded place on the outskirts around midnight and found cockfighting going on. The arrested persons were handed over to Vemanapalli police for further action.
