A 25-year-old cab driver from Hyderabad, Shaik Abdul Khader, suffering from severe metabolic bone disease caused by an undiagnosed parathyroid tumour, which had left him bedridden for a year, was successfully treated at Care Hospitals, Banjara Hills.

The patient’s condition worsened with the development of a

terminal-stage brown tumour with infection in his right thumb, causing severe pain, swelling, and functional disability, doctors said.

Tests led by Dr. Sangeeta Jha, Senior Surgical Endocrinologist, confirmed the presence of a rare intrathyroidal parathyroid tumour, which was removed through a high-precision surgical intervention.
