Man who swept away in nala rescued by locals at Chinthalkunta in Vanasthalipuram on Friday night

A man who was swept away in swirling waters at Chinthalkunta in Vanasthalipuram on Friday night was rescued immediately by the locals passing through the area.

He was identified as Jagadish. Later, the police reached the spot and recovered his bike from the nala.

The incident occurred when the victim, who was on his bike, slipped and fell into the nala near Domino’s Pizza shop, when he was allegedly trying



to cross the nala during the heavy downpour in the area around 9.30pm.

The nala empties into the Hakimabad Cheruvu, which is also called the Mansoorabad Tank.

Sources said other motorists and locals who noticed him getting washed away rushed to his rescue.

According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, Hayathnagar and surrounding areas received 8.9cm rainfall on Friday.
