Tension prevailed in Miryalaguda town on Monday after a man climbed a BSNL mobile tower and threatened to jump, alleging that he had been denied an Indiramma House despite being eligible.

Mohd Younus, a painter from Chaitanya Nagar Colony, said his repeated pleas for an Indiramma House had gone unheard. Upset over the alleged official apathy, he climbed the mobile tower and threatened to end his life, according to

reports.

He demanded that the authorities allot an Indiramma House to his wife if anything happened to him. On receiving information, Two-Town Circle Inspector Soma Narasayya, along with Sub-Inspectors and other police personnel, rushed to the spot.

They counselled Younus and persuaded him to abandon his protest and climb down safely. Despite their appeals, Younus did not relent, reports added.
