A family dispute turned tragic when a man allegedly killed his wife and surrendered before the Kukatpally Police Station on Thursday.
As per reports, the victim, identified as Asmara Begum (24), and Shaik Rahim were married in 2024 and were living in Indiramma Colony in Kaithalapur in Moosapet in the city.
The couple also had a one-and-a-half-year-old son. Rahim was working as an auto-rickshaw driver. The couple was known to have frequent quarrels since they were married, and both the
husband and wife had separately lodged complaints with the police regarding these domestic issues.
On Thursday morning, a fight ensued between the two, and in a fit of rage, Rahim allegedly slit Asamara?s throat with a knife. He went to the police station and surrendered after committing the heinous crime.
The police arrived at their home and shifted the body to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. A case was registered, and the Kukatpally police have taken him into custody.
