A man, with the help of his brother, murdered his alcoholic son and then surrendered before the police at Thanur mandal headquarters on Wednesday night.
Police said Raju, 31, a daily wage labourer from Thanur, died on the spot after being beaten black and blue with a stick and having
his legs broken by his father, Lalanna, and uncle, Laxman, at their residence at around 9 pm. Both Lalanna and Laxman later confessed to the crime before the police.
Lalanna admitted that he killed his son as he had been harassed for a long time due to Raju’s addiction to liquor.
