A patient died by suicide after jumping from the Osmania General Hospital building on Sunday.
As per available information, the victim, Ayyub Khan (63), a truck driver from Indira Nagar in Tandur of Vikarabad district, had been admitted to the hospital for hernia treatment on August 13.
Doctors had scheduled surgery for Monday. While undergoing treatment as an inpatient in a ward on the second floor of
the hospital building, Ayyub Khan jumped out of the bathroom window on Sunday.
He suffered multiple grievous injuries and was rushed to the emergency ward, where he later succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Family members said he may have been scared of the prospect of surgery, which could have led him to take the extreme step. His son also mentioned that Ayyub Khan had been mentally unstable for some time.
