Man held for duping public over draw of lots to sell house in Adilabad

A man was arrested for allegedly duping the public under the guise of drawing lots to sell house sites under Boath police station limits on Tuesday. Thirteen lottery books were seized from him.

Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy said Thumma Mahipal, a real estate agent from Sonala was apprehended for cheating the gullible people under the pretext of conducting draw of lots to sell house sites. A case was



registered against Mahipal for selling coupons worth Rs 2,000 each and investigations were taken up.

Jeevan Reddy warned stern action against real estate developers if they dupe the customers by conducting draw of lots. He stated that organizing the draw of lots was an unlawful act.

He said that certain agents and developers were fleecing the customers through lucky draws.
