In a bizarre and tragic incident, a lorry driver choked on a piece of 'Mysore Bonda' while eating and died unnoticed on the spot in the city.
As per police reports, Dasari Ramesh (45), a resident of SPR Hills in Rahmatnagar, Borabanda, who was a lorry driver by profession, was eating Bondas at a tiffin center near Sri Krishna Devaraya Nagar in Yousufguda around 1 AM on Thursday.
While eating, a piece of it got stuck in his
throat, and Ramesh started choking on the crispy food item, which is a dense snack made with fermented white flour.
He struggled for some time and collapsed in front of the shop. Unfortunately, no one noticed him struggle since it was way past midnight.
On Friday morning, locals noticed Ramesh lying unconscious and informed the Yousufguda police, who reached the spot and confirmed that Ramesh was already dead.
