Man allegedly assaulted by his wife’s relatives in Medak

The kin of a woman allegedly beat up her lover while police watched helplessly at Kallakal under Manoharabad police station limits on Wednesday.

According to the victim’s kin, Sainath, a native of Konaipally in Manoharabad mandal, currently residing in Medchal, fell in love with a woman from Kothur of Mulug mandal in Siddipet district. After the couple married against the wishes of



the woman’s elders, they approached the Manoharabad police on Wednesday.

Later, the police escorted the couple to Medchal in a police vehicle. However, the woman’s kin intercepted the vehicle on NH-44 at Kallakal, dragged Sainath out of the car and attacked him indiscriminately, allegedly while the police remained mute spectators. They later forcibly took away the woman in their car.
