Lorry overturned near Batasingaram on Hyderabad–Vijayawada Highway

A lorry overturned on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway near Batasingaram on the city outskirts on Tuesday, resulting in major traffic congestion along the busy stretch.

The incident occurred when the heavy vehicle driver lost control of the steering and the vehicle hit the road median before turning over.

Several vehicles were stranded for few kilometres between



Abdullapurmet and Batasingaram, with delays expected to impact vehicle movement till Hayathnagar.

The situation worsened due to increased festive travel, as a large number of motorists were on the road at the time of the accident.

The local police reached the spot promptly and began clearance operations with the help of a crane to move the lorry aside and ease traffic.
