After increasing beer prices in February early this year, the cash-starved State government is now reportedly planning to increase liquor prices by about 10 to 15 percent across brands.
The revised prices are likely to come into effect from Monday. Prices of cheap liquor might not be revised. The increased liquor prices are
expected to generate a revenue of nearly Rs.130 crore to Rs.150 crore a month to the government.
Already, a revised price list of liquor brands is doing rounds on social media platforms but there is no official order or confirmation from the State government. Wine dealers too said there was no communication yet from the Excise department.
