To spread awareness on the importance of nutritious meals for well-being and kidney health, Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU), Banjara Hills, organised a series of events around healthy eating habits on the occasion of National Nutrition Week.
Highlighting the importance of balanced nutrition in maintaining kidney health, the hospital organised special diet consultations for patients, recipe-sharing sessions for renal-friendly meals, and
informative discussions on combating obesity, hypertension, and diabetes through healthy eating.
Experts at AINU emphasised that dietary choices directly impact kidney function, especially for individuals at risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension, or diabetes.
Dr Srikanth Gundlapalli, senior nephrologist and transplant physician, AINU, said, “Cutting salt and sugar can significantly reduce the risk of kidney disease.”
