A leopard that strayed out of the forest killed a calf at Kadpal village in Sirgapur mandal late on Tuesday night, spreading fear among residents.

The incident occurred when farmer Thukaram, who had tied his cattle in a shed at his agriculture field on the village outskirts, returned to find the half-eaten carcass of one of his

cattle. He immediately alerted the forest and police officials.

Forest personnel reached the spot, collected pug marks and other evidence, and began monitoring the area. They cautioned villagers against moving alone and advised them not to venture out at night. The incident triggered panic among people in Kadpal and nearby villages.
