TRS working president K T Rama Rao has decided to shoulder the responsibility of membership drive in the city as he will be visiting bastis from August 6 onwards. The TRS working president had a review meeting with the city MLAs and incharges of the Lok Sabha constituencies of Secunderabad, Malkajgiri and Chevella on the membership drive at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday.

It was decided in the meeting that the membership drive in the city would be continued till August 10 and KTR would be visiting the city areas from August 6 onwards. The party leaders told KTR that the membership was delayed because of the Bonalu festival in the city and vowed to complete the drive soon. However, KTR said that he would be visiting bastis and talk to the people and would give them party membership.

The TRS leader reviewed the membership drive in the Assembly segments in three Lok Sabha constituencies. The MLAs informed that the drive was going on well and in many constituencies the membership touched 50,000 and half of the books

have been given for digitisation.

KTR asked the leaders to make sure the entire process is completed by August 10 and take up the booth committees by August 20. There are 2,000 notified slums in the city and every basti should have a committee.

There should be minimum of 15 members and 33 maximum members in the committee and provide 51 per cent representation to weaker sections, said KTR. He asked the MLAs Maganti Gopinath (Jubilee Hills), A Gandhi (Serilingampally), M Krishna Rao (Kukatpally), Sudheer Reddy (L B Nagar), who have completed the target to form committees immediately. KTR asked the leaders to take the developmental works of the TRS government in the city to the people. He asked the leaders to inform people that there would be no water crisis in the city because of the completion of Kaleshwaram project. He also wanted them to remind that it was because of the Chief Minister's vision there was no shortage of power or water in the city.
