A laser beam light triggered scare on the runway at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad.
The laser light was said to be used at a function in one of the marriage halls near the airport two days ago.
The incident triggered panic among the airport staff, prompting the personnel of Air Traffic Controller (ATC)
to alert the police.
Officials said the laser lights would cause discomfort, disorientation and distraction for pilots during critical flight phases such as landing, takeoff, approach, and emergency manoeuvres.
When contacted, a senior police official said, “We have not booked any case as no complaint was received.”
