Land grabber held for threatening, abusing Dalits in Adilabad

A man was arrested on Tuesday for grabbing land from the poor by producing fake land titles, threatening the public, and abusing weaker sections.

Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy said Ushkem Raghupathi was apprehended for occupying lands of the poor by submitting forged documents and threatening people. A case under the SC/ST



(Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, was also registered against him for abusing Dalits.

Police acted against Raghupathi following a complaint from Ere Nadipi Ganganna of Mavala, who alleged that Raghupathi mortgaged his land six years ago. Raghupathi threatened to kill Ganganna by crushing him with a tractor when he raised an objection.
