L V Prasad Eye Institute shines globally with 22 scientists on Stanford list

A total of 22 clinical scientists from Hyderabad-based L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) have made it to the lifetime and annual rankings of the prestigious 2025 Stanford/Elsevier Top 2 per cent Scientists List, released recently. 

Of the 22, a total of seven top-performing eye researchers have made it to the



lifetime rankings, while the remaining 15 made it to the annual rankings 2025.

The seven LVPEI researchers who earned a place in the lifetime ranking for ophthalmology from India are Gullapalli N Rao, Dr Savitri Sharma, Prof Balasubramanian D, Dr Mohd Javid Ali, Dr Prashant Garg, Dr Taraprasad Das and Dr Swathi Kaliki.
