KTR’s Miryalaguda protest gets permission, rally denied

The BRS has secured police permission for the farmers’ public meeting in Miryalaguda on Thursday, but its proposed rally through the town was denied. The party working president KT Rama Rao is scheduled to participate in the protest meeting.

The BRS planned a farmers’ rally from the flyover bridge to Rajiv Chowk, followed by a public meeting, to protest the Congress government’s alleged failures and the non-release of water to



the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal. However, the police cited traffic and law-and-order concerns and initially denied permission for both events.

After BRS leaders met Nalgonda SP Sharath Chandra Pawar and sought reconsideration, permission was granted for a farmers’ dharna at the local NSP camp ground at 3 pm. However, the permission to the rally was denied. BRS leaders accused the government of using the police to suppress their protest.
