BRS working president KT Rama Rao issued a stern warning to Congress leaders, declaring that his party would not remain silent if Telangana or former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was insulted.
“We tolerated personal criticism. But if anyone curses Telangana or disrespects our leader, we will cut off their tongues,” he said.
Targeting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Rama Rao said governance was not easy as it appears. He said while Telangana’s revenues were shrinking, the Chief Minister’s relatives had acquired around 2,000 acres of land near the proposed Fourth City. He sought to know the formula for wealth amassed by the Chief Minister’s family within a short
span.
“Revanth Reddy’s family is growing richer as the State grows poorer. Let him explain its recipe to the people,” he demanded.
He also took a dig at Revanth Reddy who claimed that during his visit to Delhi to raise loans, bankers were looking as if he would steal their footwear. “One cannot expect any other treatment to a man caught red-handed with bundles of currency. What else do you call him?” he said, referring to Revanth Reddy’s alleged involvement in the 2015 cash-for-votes scandal.
He charged the Congress leadership with handing over the State to an incompetent and dishonest leader like Revanth Reddy, putting Telangana’s future in danger.
