BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday accused the BJP and the Congress of misusing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to delete supporters of opposition parties, particularly in States governed by regional parties. He urged party workers to remain alert and ensure that no genuine voter?s name was removed from the electoral rolls.
He also cautioned them against the alleged inclusion of fake voters and duplicate entries. He demanded a
transparent and impartial voter verification process.
Addressing booth-level assistants (BLAs) of the BRS in LB Nagar Assembly constituency here, Rama Rao said the BRS had already submitted a representation to the Election Commission seeking neutrality during the SIR exercise while identifying bogus votes in Hyderabad. He instructed party leaders to personally visit every household, meet voters during the verification process and strengthen grassroots connections.
