BRS working president KT Rama Rao issued a stern warning to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, demanding a public apology or face legal consequences over alleged defamatory remarks linking him to drug investigations. He charged the Chief Minister with peddling lies against him through informal media briefings.
“The filth that Revanth Reddy spews in the name of media chitchats has surpassed all bounds of decency. I had exercised restraint out of respect for the Chief Minister’s office. I will not stand down anymore,” he declared.
In a sharp rebuttal, Rama Rao questioned the basis of Revanth Reddy’s allegations that he was being investigated in drug cases. “Do you
even have an iota of proof? Is there any case registered?” he asked, accusing the Chief Minister of indulging in “character assassination” under the guise of informal media interactions.
He stated that the Chief Minister travels to Delhi only to hurl abuse under the guise of chitchats, lacking the courage to confront him directly. “You hide behind chitchats and indulge in character assassination to escape legal accountability,” he charged.
Calling the remarks baseless and vulgar, Rama Rao challenged Revanth Reddy to disclose any evidence publicly or face legal consequences. “I will drag you to the courts and make you pay for every slanderous statement,” he warned.
