KTR slams SIT notice to Harish Rao, calls it ‘political harassment’

BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the SIT notice issued to BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao, calling it political harassment by the Congress government. He said the move exposed the desperation of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who was resorting to diversion politics after being accused of irregularities in Singareni coal mine allocations.

Reacting to the SIT notice, Rama Rao reminded that the Supreme Court had already dismissed the phone-tapping case for lacking substance and terming it politically motivated. “When the apex court has closed the matter, issuing fresh notices only shows how low this government has stooped,” he said.

He stated that the fresh notices to Harish Rao came within hours



of the latter revealing details of the alleged coal block scam involving the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law, Srujan Reddy. “This is diversion, not investigation,” he remarked.

Rama Rao said Harish Rao who stood with the people since the statehood movement, has consistently questioned the government’s failures inside and outside the Assembly. “Unable to confront him politically, the government is trying to harass him with false cases,” he said.

He stated that the BRS is ready for any investigation but warned that government’s intimidation will not silence the opposition. “We have faith in the courts. No matter how many false cases you file, we will continue to question this government,” he asserted.
