BRS working president KT Rama Rao came down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for creating chaos through rumours on the Mahalakshmi scheme. Citing a fist fight between women at the Nizamabad post office, he said the Congress government was promising schemes, but delivering chaos.
Women thronged in large numbers at the post office in Nizamabad after rumours spread that the government was providing Rs 2,500 monthly assistance under Mahalakshmi scheme to women with savings accounts in the post office. However, while waiting in the queue, a heated argument erupted between them, leading to a fist fight.
“Yesterday, you triggered fights in RTC buses in the
name of free bus rides for women. Today, in the name of Mahalakshmi scheme, you are making women fight and pull each other’s hair. Can there be a greater sin?” he asked on X, warning that such scenes could spread Statewide if the Congress government failed to deliver the promised Rs 2,500 monthly assistance under the scheme.
He also took a dig at the Chief Minister who also holds the Municipal Administration portfolio, for waking up mid-monsoon to dig roads in Hyderabad for laying pipelines and other works.
“Uncontrolled traffic, open drains, and dug-up roads coupled with rain is a recipe for disaster. Brand Hyderabad is being washed away, literally,” he said.
