BRS working president KT Rama Rao slammed the Congress government over delays in crop procurement and alleged that farmers were suffering due to official negligence. He said several farmers were being forced to wait for long hours at procurement centres in extreme heat and stressed that a few had died while waiting for their turn.

Despite these incidents, the government remained unmoved, he charged. “Are you rejoicing over the deaths of farmers?” Rama Rao asked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in a post on X.

He alleged that farmers across the state

were struggling at procurement centres under scorching  weather conditions while the government failed to respond with urgency. “The Congress government has shown no compassion towards the farming community,” he said.

Questioning the delay in procurement, Rama Rao asked how long the government intended to make farmers suffer. He demanded immediate intervention to resolve the crisis and ensure smooth procurement operations. He also urged the government to discuss procurement delays and farmers’ issues in the Cabinet meeting and take swift corrective measures.
