KTR Slams CM Revanth, Govt for Hyderabad's Rain Woes

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday, in a sharp attack on the Congress government, held Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy “responsible for the disruption caused by the season's first major rainfall in Hyderabad on Tuesday.” 

In a statement, Rama Rao said Hyderabad’s infrastructure collapsed under a relatively small spell of rain, causing severe traffic congestion and hardship to commuters across the capital. 

The government did not take adequate



pre-monsoon preparedness measures, and precautionary works traditionally carried out before the rainy season, were neglected, he said.

The government's response to the situation was woeful, and the administration failed to address citizens' concerns in a timely manner. When the BRS was in power, it took up the Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) and Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) to mitigate urban flooding and traffic issues. The Congress government failed to build on those efforts, he said.
