BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday expressed deep concern over the disappearance of Mutyamreddy Manideep Reddy, a Hyderabad student who has been missing for 45 days after travelling to Finland for higher studies. He met Manideep’s parents here on Sunday and assured them of the BRS party’s support.

Rama Rao urged the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene immediately and direct the Indian Embassy in Finland to coordinate with local authorities to trace the student. He also called upon the Telangana government and police to treat the case as a top priority and take all

necessary steps to ensure Manideep Reddy’s safe return.

He termed the case distressing and said the BTech student had not responded to calls or messages since May 5 and that no concrete information had emerged despite the passage of several weeks.

Criticising the handling of the case, the former minister said it was unfortunate that the family had to approach the High Court after allegedly receiving an inadequate response from local authorities. He welcomed the High Court’s decision to issue notices to the Centre, the Indian Embassy in Finland and the Telangana police.
